aoû. 8 2019

The Corredor Logístico Integrado de Nacala (CLN) is a logistics infrastructure of 912 km for the transport of coal from the Moatize coal region of Tete province to the port of Nacala in the Nacala-a-Velha district of Nampula province.

Bureau Veritas has been involved in this project since 2012, providing the health, safety and environment (HSE) technicians and engineers in the construction of the railway corridor until early 2016.  In December 2015, Bureau Veritas was awarded a 3 years contract to operate a coal testing and analysis laboratory at the Nacala coal terminal. This contract is still ongoing.

In the first half of 2019, Nacala laboratory received two HSE acknowledge awards from CLN:

  • First award in April for the Health and Safety requirement in the Responsible Attitude Program (Programa de Atitude Responsável- PAR) for the evolution of the laboratory’s health, safety and environmental performance;
  • Second award in July, which recognizes Bureau Veritas teams commitment to health, safety and environment, through the proactive execution of the indicators, the identification and elimination of safety risks in the operations of the Corredor Logístico de Integrado de Nacala.

These awards acknowledge the effort that has been made by the Nacala laboratory teams in complying with health, safety and environmental requirements.
